Digital Photography

We use 35mm digital photography and close-up intraoral camera photos to help our patients define what they want in a smile. Individuals are able to see themselves as the world sees them and help decide on the changes they desire in their smile.  We also use digital imaging to create pictures of a patient’s smile as it could be before any dental work is done. This allows patients to see what a new smile will look like!

Digital X-Rays

We use digital x-ray technology as a part of gathering the important data for diagnosis and treatment recommendations. These x-rays require 80% less radiation than conventional x-rays and are permanently stored in our patients’ digital chart. What is the benefit to you…here’s an example; with the reduced radiation digital x-rays expel, it would take approximately 60 full mouth series to equal the background radiation that the average citizen is exposed to on a yearly basis. The standard of care for taking full mouth series of x-rays is 1 set every 3-5 years, depending on the overall health of the patient.

Dental Magnification Loupes

The use of magnification in Dentistry provides increased image size and clarity, which improves visual acuity and results in more precise diagnosis and treatment. Our team is committed to delivering the best care for our patients, and the use of dental magnification is further evidence of this belief.

Ultrasonic Instrumentation

As the practice of dental hygiene has evolved, so have the techniques and instruments dental hygienists utilize. The mechanical action of ultrasonic scaling stems from vibration energy that crushes and eliminates plaque and tartar with a therapeutic water lavage, flushing the pockets around the tooth and root with cooling water. The bacteria are disrupted via the turbulence and irrigation components. What this means to you is a more thorough and comfortable cleaning that promotes enhanced health and healing.

NuCalm

NuCalm is a system used during restorative procedures to aid in relaxation without the use of narcotics or other controlled substances. This system naturally transitions the body to feel as it would just as you are about to fall asleep and helps you maintain that level of relaxation throughout the appointment.

“With NuCalm, you will be in the dental chair getting treatment, but you will be so relaxed that you will not be aware of or focused on the dentistry. You will actually feel like you are at a spa or a place of deep relaxation. Imagine that, deep relaxation in the dental chair.”–www.nucalm.com

AirFlow Master Air-Abrasion

The AirFlow Master uses a mixture of water, air, and low-abrasive powder to break down and flush away biofilm. This new technology is not the gritty material you might expect, but a new, biocompatible product that is gentle on your natural teeth and safe for all restorative materials. It’s gentle enough to even use on soft tissues like your gums and tongue! This FDA-cleared powder product has gone through extensive research and testing to ensure your safety and comfort during your hygiene visit. By reducing time spent removing stain and biofilm with other instruments, your hygiene visit becomes a more positive and comfortable experience!

September 9, 2020

Do you have frequent headaches or migraines, earaches or tinnitus, tender jaw muscles, or a dull aching facial pain? Do you often have neck and shoulder pain? Does your jaw lock or stray to one side when you open your mouth?
